So what can you do if EAS messes up the work like they did with us! You might just want to get yourself a solicitor and leave it all to him–but this costs a lot of money and there are things you can do yourself.
The legal position is clear. You’re legally entitled to have the job done with ‘reasonable care and skill’. That’s what it says in the 1982 Supply of Goods and Services Act. Check out the Citizen’s Advice Bureau website for more information, advice and links. You can also use the Small Claims Court–which sounds a bit scary, but is designed to be used without you needing to hire a lawyer. You issue the claim, the company has to respond and then you make your case in front of a judge. The result is legally binding on the company. Like most things these days, you can get the whole process started on line. Just click on the link.

Fingers crossed–but the Toilet sign has been there for a while and EAS vans and their people have been coming and going all that time. Perhaps a decent double glazing firm will finally move in!?
